American Airlines 24-hour Cancellation Policy
American Airlines offers passengers the ability to cancel tickets without penalty within 24 hours of booking. American Airlines cancellation policy applies to both refundable and non-refundable fares purchased directly through American Airlines.

Take the next available flight or transportation offered by American Airlines. If the waiting time between the flight cancellation time and the departure time of your new flight exceeds 8 hours, accommodation will be provided free of charge, along with round-trip transportation between the airport and your accommodation.
Cancel your flight and request a full refund if the next available flight does not suit you.
If you purchased your ticket in cash, bank cheque/bank transfer/bank money order/travel voucher and/or award ticket/Miles, etc., you will receive your refund within 7 days.
If the completion of your return journey is no longer of any use, you will be provided with a return flight to your departure point free of charge as soon as possible.
American Airlines’ cancellation policy:
The American Airlines cancellation policy applies specifically to tickets purchased through American Airlines’ website, mobile app, call center, or airport sales office. Tickets bought through online travel agencies, consolidators, or other third-party sellers may not be eligible.
The American Airlines cancellation window begins at the time the booking is finalized and a ticket is issued. For tickets purchased online, this is when payment is completed. For call centers or other bookings, it is when the booking is confirmed and a ticket number is assigned.
Full refunds within 24 hours are only applicable to totally unused tickets. If travel has begun, even within the first 24 hours, cancellation penalties and fees will apply.

For tickets with multiple passengers, the policy applies to the entire booking. If one passenger cancels, the tickets for all remaining passengers are also canceled and refunded.
